U.S. president claims no American soldiers will be needed for “one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth.”

PALESTINIAN-ISRAEL-CONFLICT

U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated Thursday that Palestinians should be removed from Gaza after Israel’s war on the coastal enclave is done.

The Palestinians should be resettled into “far safer and more beautiful communities,” fitted with “new and modern homes,” Trump said in an early morning post on Truth Social. The forced evacuation would give Palestinians “a chance to be happy, safe, and free,” he added.

Trump called the project “one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth,” which he claimed would not require any U.S. military presence

The U.S. president also disparaged Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer as being a Palestinian.

Trump first unveiled his plan Tuesday, announcing that the U.S. will “take over the Gaza Strip” after the end of the Israel-Hamas conflict and turn it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

Arab nations, along with key European capitals, reacted with fury to Trump’s proposal that would include resettling Palestinians into neighboring countries like Jordan and Egypt, which they forcefully reject. Germany’s foreign minister said that would be a violation of international law.

Late Wednesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt contradicted Trump’s statements, saying that the resettlement of Palestinians would be temporary.
